Metro On The Go, the official mobile application of the Metro transit system, is now available to all Metro riders. The new mobile app combines the features of Metro’s web-based Trip Planner with real-time vehicle data and the location services of the user’s mobile device. Transit riders now have a convenient, easy-to-use way to know where their bus is and when it will arrive.
The application accesses real-time vehicle data from Metro’s automatic vehicle locator system, which the agency uses to track its MetroBus fleet. With this information, Metro On The Go provides customers with real-time MetroBus arrival and departures times, and users can also view their bus on a map and find its current location on its route.
Metro On The Go also offers a variety of features to help plan trips on MetroLink and MetroBus from a mobile device. In addition to a mobile trip planner, app users can access schedules for MetroLink and every MetroBus route, save recent trips, check Rider Alerts and use the location services of their mobile device to identify nearby stops and transit options.
Metro On The Go is available for iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
