Invitation to join CMT for Presentation on TOD possibilities at UMSL South Station
I would like to invite you to attend an upcoming presentation from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) St. Louis presented by Citizens for Modern Transit in partnership with Metro and underwritten by the AGC St. Louis. ULI professionals will present on the possibilities for Transit Oriented Development (TOD) opportunities at the UMSL SOUTH MetroLink Station on Tuesday, April 17.
CMT engaged the ULI St. Louis Chapter to do a Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) for the UMSL South MetroLink Station. The TAP, composed of local experts on land use, policy, and development, spent two days analyzing the opportunities for the UMSL South Station, interviewing stakeholders and developing a possible plan to move development forward. TOD education and advocacy is a key goal for CMT this year, and it is our hope that this ULI Study takes our education and advocacy efforts one step further by providing a tool to move development forward.
A special presentation will be held on Tuesday, April 17 at Millennium Student Center Century Rooms A&B at the University of Missouri – St. Louis campus to discuss the results of the TAP. I hope you will consider joining us for this event.

The Ten Toe Express program links walking with public transit use resulting in a healthier, more active lifestyle.
I hate to be cynical but is this another planning session like the Great Streets program for Natural Bridge that still hasn’t come to fruition. As a resident of the area I hate to get excited about these things; then nothing happens. Some people even plan to not move out of the neighborhood because of such promises.
Joe, thanks for your comments. We hope that this TAP will serve as the next step to build on the Great Streets program which is moving forward. Our goal is to create the opportunity for developers to see the potential and have the ULI provide an outside look at what tools would be beneficial in attracting those developers to the Station area.
